CNC Machining

Precision Machining.
Zero Compromises.

CNC mill and lathe, water jet, and full reverse engineering capability — we machine the parts your operation depends on, to the tolerances it demands.

Our Machining Approach

From Raw Stock to Finished Part — In House

A&K's machining capabilities center on our CNC mill and CNC lathe, backed by water jet cutting for complex profiles and a full complement of manual and semi-automatic equipment. We machine parts from customer-supplied drawings, from samples (reverse engineering), or from our own CAD/CAM designs when drawings aren't available.

We work in carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze, and engineering plastics — including Delrin, UHMW, nylon, acrylic, and polycarbonate. No minimum order — we machine single prototype parts and production runs with equal attention to quality.

What We Machine

From tool steel dies to electric motor housings — if it needs to be machined to spec, we produce it in house with tight tolerances and fast turnaround.

Dies

Precision machined dies for stamping, forming, punching, and cutting operations. We produce single-cavity and progressive dies in tool steel, carbide-insert configurations, and specialty alloys. New dies from drawings or replacement dies reverse-engineered from worn originals.

Moulds

Injection moulds, blow moulds, and compression mould tooling machined on our CNC mill. Cavity surfaces, runner systems, and ejector pin holes machined to spec. We also machine mould repair inserts when a full new mould isn't required.

Injection · Blow · Compression

Castings

Finish machining of customer-supplied castings — rough iron, steel, aluminum, and bronze castings brought to final dimensional accuracy on our CNC equipment. We also machine replacement parts that mimic original castings when new castings aren't available.

Electric Motor Housings

Custom and replacement motor housings machined to precise bearing bore and shaft fit tolerances. We reproduce worn or damaged housings from the original or a sample, restoring motors to service without waiting on OEM lead times that can run 8–16 weeks.

Reverse Engineered · Any Frame Size

Packaging & Processing Equipment

Custom machined components for packaging lines and processing equipment — cam followers, gibs, slides, shafts, rollers, and specialty tooling. We work with food-grade materials and surface finishes for pharmaceutical and food processing environments.

Reverse Engineering

No drawing? No problem. Bring us the worn or broken part and we'll measure it, produce a sketch or CAD model, and machine an exact replacement. This service has saved clients tens of thousands of dollars compared to equipment replacement.

Plastic Machining

Along with metal, we machine engineering plastics when the job calls for it — Delrin and nylon for gears, cams, and bushings; UHMW for wear strips and chain guides; acrylic and polycarbonate for machine guards and sight windows.

Our Process

How a Machining Job Moves Through Our Shop

From your first message to a finished part on your dock, here's the path most machining work takes at A&K.

01

Print Review

Send drawings, STEP files, or just a description. We check the print for manufacturability and flag tolerance questions before quoting — not after.

02

Quote with Real Timing

Fixed quote within 48 hours on most jobs. Lead time reflects our current shop load, not a placeholder — you get the real schedule.

03

Setup & First Article

Material verified, program validated, first part inspected against the print. Any tolerance question gets resolved on part one — before the run.

04

Production & Inspection

In-process QC throughout the run. Critical dimensions checked on every part. Material certs and inspection reports when your QA team needs them.

Who We Machine For

Common Questions

CNC Machining FAQ

What materials can A&K machine?

We machine carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, brass, bronze, and engineering plastics. For specialty alloys or materials not listed, call us — we evaluate requests individually based on machinability and our tooling inventory.

Can A&K machine parts without drawings?

Yes. Our reverse engineering service lets us work from a physical sample, worn part, or even a rough sketch. We measure the part, produce a working drawing or CAD model, and machine the replacement. This has saved many customers from expensive equipment replacement when OEM parts are no longer available.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. We machine single prototype parts and production runs with equal attention. There is no minimum order quantity — whether you need one part or a hundred, we can help.

What tolerances can A&K hold on CNC machining?

Our CNC mill and lathe are capable of holding tolerances to ±0.001" on most features in standard materials. Tighter tolerances are achievable depending on part geometry and material. Discuss your specific tolerance requirements when you request a quote.

How long does a typical machining job take?

Turnaround depends on part complexity, material availability, and current shop workload. Simple replacement parts are often completed within a few days. Complex or multi-operation parts may take longer. Call us with your part description and timeline requirements and we'll give you a straight answer.
