Scaffolding

Custom engineered scaffolding systems for plant access, maintenance platforms, and elevated work areas. Built from structural steel tube and pipe with engineered connection points. Designed for your site layout and load requirements — not an off-the-shelf system that may or may not fit.

Stairs

Industrial steel stair systems for mezzanines, conveyors, tanks, processing equipment, and building access. Grating treads, diamond plate, or bar grating. Open riser or solid construction. OSHA-compliant handrail and guardrail integrated or supplied separately.

Railing

Safety and architectural railing fabricated from pipe, tube, and flat bar. OSHA-compliant industrial railing for elevated platforms, mezzanines, and rooftop equipment. Stainless, galvanized, or painted carbon steel. Bolted or welded post mounting configurations.

Platforms

Elevated work platforms, equipment access platforms, and mezzanine systems fabricated and installed by A&K. We design for your specific equipment layout and personnel traffic patterns. Grating, diamond plate, or checker plate deck surfaces. Full structural calculation available.

Countertops

Stainless steel and carbon steel countertops, work surfaces, and prep tables for commercial kitchens, laboratories, industrial workstations, and food processing environments. Welded, ground, and polished to specified finish. Integrated sinks, backsplashes, and equipment cutouts available.

Trench Boxes & Shoring

New builds, custom sizes, and field/shop repairs for steel trench boxes and shoring equipment. Cracked welds, bent side panels, damaged spreader bars, and pin connections restored to safe service. Custom trench shields built to your depth and width requirements. Emergency turnaround to keep crews working.

Concrete Forms

Custom fabricated steel and aluminum concrete forms for industrial, civil, and architectural pours — wall forms, column forms, footing forms, and one-off custom forms built to your drawings. Repair and modification of existing forms available. Reuse your tooling instead of buying new.

Port Cranes

Structural fabrication, repair, and component replacement for port cranes and dock lifting equipment. A&K has decades of experience with Jacksonville's port and marine sector. Custom structural components, sheave housings, boom sections, and structural repairs performed in-shop or on-site.

Cones

Fabricated transition cones for hoppers, bins, chutes, and process vessels. Formed from flat plate on our roll and press brake equipment. Carbon steel, stainless, and abrasion-resistant plate. Full circumference seam welded with penetrant or radiographic testing available.

Buckets

Custom fabricated buckets for bucket elevators, dredges, and material handling equipment. AR400 and AR500 abrasion-resistant plate available for high-wear applications. Replacement buckets matched to your elevator chain bolt pattern or custom configurations from drawings.

Hoppers & Bins

Fabricated steel and stainless hoppers, bins, and storage vessels for bulk materials — grain, aggregate, chemicals, pellets, and powders. Rolled, seam-welded, and reinforced to your volume, flow, and material specs. Transition cones, support legs, and chute connections built in the same shop.

Equipment Skids & Frames

Custom machine skids, equipment baseplates, and structural frames — engineered for the weight, vibration, and mounting pattern of your equipment. Carbon steel or stainless, with pre-drilled anchor patterns, drip pans, lifting lugs, and forklift pockets as required.

How a Fabrication Job Moves Through Our Shop

From your first sketch to a finished weldment on your dock — or installed at your site — here's how A&K runs a fabrication project.

Concept or Drawing

Bring a sketch, a CAD file, an old part to copy, or just a description of what you need. We translate it into shop drawings before any steel gets cut.

Material & Quote

Plate, tube, structural — sourced from our regular suppliers or your specified vendor. Fixed quote with a real lead time, not an 8-week placeholder.

Cut, Form & Weld

Water jet, shear, brake press, roll, and certified welding — under one roof and one schedule. AWS-spec welds when the print calls for them.

Finish & Deliver

Surface prep, paint or coatings, then delivery on our flatbed or your freight. On-site install by the same team when the job calls for it.

What structural materials does A&K work with?

We fabricate with carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and abrasion-resistant plate (AR400, AR500). Material selection depends on your load requirements, environment, and budget. We'll recommend the right spec for your application.

Does A&K install what they fabricate?

Yes. We offer on-site installation of platforms, stairs, railing, conveyor structures, and other fabricated assemblies throughout Jacksonville and Northeast Florida. Our installation team ensures everything is properly aligned, leveled, and secured — not just delivered and left.

Can A&K handle both the design and fabrication?

Yes. Our CAD/CAM design service bridges the gap from concept to shop-ready drawing. If you have an idea but no drawings, we'll work with you to produce the engineering documentation, then fabricate from our own design. Design and fabrication under one roof eliminates translation errors.

What welding processes does A&K use for structural fabrication?

Our certified welders use MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), and stick (SMAW) welding processes. We weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Both shop and field welding are available depending on the scope of your project.

How large of a fabrication project can A&K handle?

Our shop is equipped to handle single custom parts through large structural assemblies. We've fabricated port crane components, full mezzanine systems, and custom scaffolding for industrial facilities. Call us with your scope and we'll tell you directly whether it's in our wheelhouse.

Does A&K build new trench boxes and shoring, or only repair them?

Both. We build new custom trench shields sized to your depth and width requirements, and we repair damaged trench boxes and shoring — cracked welds, bent side panels, damaged spreader bars, and pin connections. Field and shop repairs available, with emergency turnaround for contractors who need to keep crews working.

Can A&K fabricate custom concrete forms?

Yes. We fabricate steel and aluminum concrete forms for wall pours, columns, footings, and custom architectural or industrial applications. We build from your drawings or work with you to engineer forms for a specific pour. We also repair and modify existing forms — reusing your tooling is almost always faster and cheaper than replacing it.
